Tenneco Clean Air India has initiated ‘Vriksharopan Abhiyan’, a large-scale tree plantation programme, in partnership with the 15th Battalion of the Jat Regiment and Vaghmi Foundation at the Jat Regiment premises in Lullanagar, Pune. The programme includes the plantation of 5,000 saplings, along with an 18-month maintenance plan aimed at ensuring long-term sustainability.
The plantation drive was attended by Tenneco leadership, officers and personnel of the 15th Battalion of the Jat Regiment, and representatives from the Vaghmi Foundation. The initiative underscores Tenneco’s continued dedication to environmental conservation and its approach of working closely with community partners to drive sustainable outcomes.
Commenting on the initiative, Rishi Verma, President, Tenneco India, said, “The Vriksharopan Abhiyan is a meaningful step in Tenneco’s larger ambition to contribute to India’s environmental priorities. Our focus is on nurturing long-term green cover through structured care, protection and scientific monitoring. Through this collaborative effort, we aim to create healthier, more resilient ecosystems that benefit the community for years to come.”
As part of the initiative, each sapling will be tagged and documented to facilitate systematic monitoring, survival analysis, and quarterly reporting by the Vaghmi Foundation. Continued involvement from Tenneco employees and Foundation members through periodic revisits will help ensure sustained environmental responsibility.
