Maharashtra’s emergency ambulance network is set for a technology upgrade, with 1,756 MEMS 108 ambulances to be fitted with advanced rescue and patient-care equipment through a new partnership between SUMEET SSG and Spencer India.
The rollout includes stretchers, spine and neck immobilisation systems, oxygen delivery units and evacuation tools designed to support faster and safer patient movement during emergencies.
The upgrade is expected to improve ambulance readiness for trauma cases, road accidents and critical medical transfers across the state.
By integrating new equipment across the fleet, the project aims to improve safety for patients as well as paramedics and emergency medical technicians.
The deployment will take place in phases over the coming years.
