GCPL releases disability inclusion film featuring employees from accessible factory

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) has released a digital film ahead of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities to underline its belief that disability inclusion is a necessity for organisations. The film, shot at GCPL’s accessible Tamil Nadu facility, highlights employees with disabilities and demonstrates how inclusive systems support effective work.

The film captures ISL communication, ergonomic workstations and teamwork across employees with and without disabilities. CEO Sudhir Sitapati said GCPL has increased PwD hiring and is now extending inclusion beyond the workplace through consumer engagement initiatives and collaborations with disability-focused organisations. He stressed that companies need to design products for people with disabilities, who represent a major consumer segment.

Vaibhav Ram, GCPL’s Global Head – HR, said PwD employment remains underrepresented nationally and GCPL continues to expand inclusive hiring, with PwDs currently making up around 1% of its workforce. He highlighted GCPL’s partnership on the ‘Work That Includes’ Toolkit to help other organisations implement disability inclusion.

GCPL said the film connects to its inclusion agenda covering multiple underrepresented groups. Its Malanpur and Chengalpattu units have become examples of accessible factory design supported by training, job mapping and ISL tools. The company emphasised that inclusion remains a continuous commitment.
