Bharat Forge Chairman and Managing Director Baba Kalyani has been awarded the title of Indian of the Year 2025 in Business, recognising his pivotal role in shaping India’s advanced manufacturing, mobility technologies, and defence engineering sectors.
The jury commended Kalyani for steering Bharat Forge’s evolution from a forging-centric business into a diversified global corporation with cutting-edge capabilities. His push for indigenous defence production has been widely acknowledged as a significant contributor to India’s strategic and economic resilience.
Receiving the award from Amitabh Kant and Justice Indu Malhotra (Retd.), Kalyani dedicated the honour to his family and highlighted the importance of an innovation-led industrial ecosystem. He said India is entering a new era in defence and manufacturing, driven by product excellence and advanced engineering.
Bharat Forge continues to expand its technological portfolio in defence platforms, aerospace components, and next-generation mobility systems.
