Victor Dubuisson rejects LIV Golf offer to focus on coaching after early retirement

Victor Dubuisson, a former Ryder Cup hero, has retired from golf at the age of 33, choosing to focus on coaching rather than accepting a last-minute offer from LIV Golf.

Dubuisson made his retirement official seven months ago, deciding to shift his career towards coaching. Despite this, LIV Golf extended an invitation for him to continue playing, but he declined. In an interview with Bunkered, Dubuisson explained his decision, saying, “I had many plans for coaching, and it was difficult to throw it all away. I didn’t want to be caught between two things. I preferred that someone else who was more willing took the opportunity.”

He now runs a coaching facility in Tenerife, offering tailored programs for golfers to enhance their skills.

Dubuisson turned professional in 2010 and once ranked as the 15th-best golfer in the world. While he never clinched a major tournament win, he had three professional victories on the European and French tours. His standout achievement was winning the Ryder Cup with Team Europe in 2014. However, as his career wound down, Dubuisson’s passion for the game waned. He withdrew from 15 events in his final three seasons and felt a sense of relief upon retiring.

Dubuisson is now dedicated to helping others improve their game through his coaching venture.
