The 2024 Paris Olympics are here, and men’s golf is set to be a thrilling event as players from around the world compete for gold. The tournament starts on August 1, and fans will have several ways to follow the action.
U.S. Team Highlights
The United States is well-represented with a strong lineup. Defending gold medalist Xander Schauffele enters the Olympics in top form, having just won his second major of the year at The Open in Scotland. Alongside him is Scottie Scheffler, the current world No. 1, who has had an exceptional season with multiple wins, including the Masters.
Collin Morikawa, with consistent performances in the majors, and Wyndham Clark, the 2023 U.S. Open champion, complete the U.S. team.
International Contenders
– Ireland: Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are key competitors. McIlroy came close to winning a major this year, and Lowry showed strong form at The Open.
– Spain: Jon Rahm, a two-time major winner, and David Puig are representing Spain. Rahm’s solid performances on the LIV Tour make him a strong contender.
– Sweden: Ludvig Åberg, a rising star, and Alex Noren are the Swedish team. Åberg’s rapid rise in the world rankings makes him one to watch.
– France: Host country France will be represented by Matthieu Pavon, who has been playing exceptionally well this year, including a victory at the Farmers Insurance Open and strong finishes in the majors.
