Uber Strengthens Premium Mobility Play With Uber Black Expansion Plan

As India’s urban mobility landscape evolves, Uber has announced a major scale-up of its premium ride category, Uber Black, with plans to double its fleet size by 2026.

Uber Black operates in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, offering high-end vehicles and top-rated drivers for riders seeking a dependable and comfortable commute. The service is positioned as a premium alternative within Uber’s multi-modal mobility ecosystem.

Dedicated Uber Black Zones at Bengaluru Airport and Mumbai Airport further enhance the experience, offering exclusive pickup areas for premium rides at key terminals.

To boost premium supply, Uber confirmed a Series A investment in Carrum, a fleet management firm supported by the CarDekho Group. The investment is aimed at expanding fleet capacity and ensuring consistent service quality.

Uber has also expanded its Reserve feature to Uber Black in Delhi, allowing advance bookings of up to 90 days.

Prabhjeet Singh said the company is committed to raising service standards while delivering long-term value for all stakeholders.

Uber also highlighted the rapid growth of Uber One in India, with over one million members.
