The Wealth Company MF Gets SEBI Go-Ahead for Specialized Investment Fund Launch

The Wealth Company Mutual Fund has received SEBI approval to launch a Specialized Investment Fund (SIF) under its new WSIF brand, placing the AMC among a select few permitted to offer this strategy-led category.

The company has named Chinmay Sathe as CIO & Head – SIF.

The AMC said WSIF is based on an investment philosophy centred on clarity, disciplined research and conviction. The strategy aims to generate sustained returns through intelligent aggression, precise risk allocation and continuous research-driven decisions.

Commenting on the approval, CEO Madhu Lunawat said SIFs represent the next major development in the mutual fund industry, as they allow hedge-fund-like market navigation within a regulated ecosystem.

Sathe added that WSIF will focus on building differentiated strategies suited to varying risk profiles, with opportunities assessed for reward asymmetry.

SIFs combine the flexibility of hedge-fund strategies with the transparency of mutual funds and are expected to attract HNIs, family offices and advanced advisory platforms looking for all-weather allocations.

The Wealth Company manages ~₹10,000 crore across mutual fund and AIF products, including the Bharat Value Fund series. It is also a UN PRI signatory, integrating ESG considerations into its investment process.
