Vi has expanded its 5G network in Maharashtra with the launch of services in eight cities, including Kolhapur, Vasai and Nanded.
The telecom operator said the rollout, effective today, will extend to 10 more cities — including Solapur, Ulhasnagar and Amravati — by May 2026.
The expansion comes after Vi’s 5G launches in Pune, Nagpur, Nashik and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, as the company looks to scale its presence in high-demand markets such as industrial corridors and urban clusters.
The rollout is part of Vi’s strategy to deepen its footprint in Maharashtra, which accounts for over 13% of India’s GDP.
Commenting on the expansion, Anand Dani, Cluster Business Head – Maharashtra & Goa, Vi, said:
“We are accelerating the expansion of Vi’s 5G network across Maharashtra, as we strengthen our footprint across key markets in the state. Building on our presence in cities like Pune, Nagpur, Nashik and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, we are now expanding in eightcities and progressing across multiple cities in a phased manner. Our expansion is guided by a clear focus on prioritising high demand locations spanning high potential data consumption ensuring a consistent and enhanced network experience for our users.”
