Mega Investor Awareness Drive Held by CDSL Investors Protection Fund and BSE Investors Protection Fund

Reinforcing their commitment to investor education, CDSL IPF and BSE IPF jointly organised a Mega Regional Investor Awareness Seminar under SEBI’s aegis in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.

The seminar brought together police personnel, CRPF, SRPF, government officials, faculty and students of MGM University, and general investors. With the theme “Shikshit Se Saksham,” the programme aimed to deepen understanding of the securities market, promote responsible investing and raise awareness about cyber security risks.

The dignitaries present included Shri Sunil Kadam, Executive Director, SEBI; Shri Rahul Kelapure, AGM, SEBI; Shri Ranjeeth Patil, Additional Municipal Commissioner; Dr. Vinaykumar Rathod, Superintendent of Police (Rural); and Shri Ratnakar Navale, DCP (Crime).

In her Opening Address, Smt. Meena Pednekar emphasised the goal of building self-reliant investors aligned with CDSL IPF’s mandate. Shri Khushro Bulsara reiterated BSE IPF’s focus on investor protection and AI awareness.

More than 850 participants attended the seminar. Sessions covered financial planning, regulatory safeguards, grievance mechanisms, investor rights and risks of unregulated schemes. The cyber fraud session detailed emerging online threats and preventive strategies.

Dr. Rathod highlighted the relevance of financial literacy for law enforcement officers, both personally and professionally. Shri Sunil Kadam said:

Through initiatives such as the National Financial Literacy Quiz 2026 for undergraduates and postgraduate college students, conducted jointly with NISM, we are strengthening the foundations of informed investing. Our collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj further enables us to reach rural and semi-urban communities, ensuring that financial literacy becomes accessible, inclusive, and impactful at the grassroot level”

The seminar forms part of ongoing nationwide awareness initiatives by CDSL IPF and BSE IPF.
