Consumer trends this wedding season show a sharp rise in demand for aesthetically designed home appliances, with newlyweds seeking products that enhance the overall look and feel of their living spaces. Insights from Kamal Pandit, Head of Design at the Appliances Business of Godrej Enterprises Group, indicate that appliances have moved from utility-driven purchases to décor-integrated choices.
Pandit noted that open-plan kitchens and modern interiors have pushed brands to innovate with elegant finishes, colour palettes and minimalistic designs. Premium finishes—glass, metallic, wood textures and soft neutrals—have emerged as top choices among new homeowners.
There is also growing interest in appliances that not only complement décor but deliver advanced performance. As couples invest in AI-powered and energy-efficient appliances, brands are focusing on merging technology with design-led aesthetics.
Minimalism continues to shape consumer preferences, with streamlined AC panels, soft-edged washing machines and ergonomically positioned controls enhancing both usability and visual appeal.
Pandit said the trend reflects a broader shift in the Indian home appliance market, where consumers now expect products to be functional, stylish and aligned with their personal design sensibilities.
