Axis Bank has expanded its digital security framework with the launch of Safety Centre on its ‘open’ mobile banking app, offering customers enhanced control over account security amid growing concerns over digital fraud.
The Safety Centre provides a range of granular controls, including SMS Shield for verifying official bank messages, options to disable Internet Banking, restrict fund transfers, block UPI payments, prevent online shopping via Net Banking, and stop the addition of new payees. Customers can also define transaction limits for fund transfers and UPI, with higher amounts requiring additional authentication.
The bank said the feature delivers instant activation of security settings, enabling users to respond immediately to suspicious activity and proactively safeguard their accounts without visiting branches or contacting customer care.
The launch builds on Axis Bank’s Safe Banking initiative, which also includes features such as Lock FD to prevent premature digital closure of fixed deposits and In-App Mobile OTP to reduce SMS-based fraud risks.
