AMI Paradigm Solutions is positioning itself as a vertically integrated AI infrastructure player with the acquisition of L&T Technology Services’ Smart World and Communication business.
The deal is aligned with the company’s strategy to build sovereign AI capabilities across public systems, defence, governance and infrastructure. The Smartworld portfolio brings capabilities across India and global markets, strengthening AMIPS’ AI-led offerings.
The company is also investing $25 billion to develop a 1 GW high-performance compute hub in Uttar Pradesh, with the first phase of around 250 MW currently underway.
“AI is becoming the new operating layer for enterprises and governance. With this acquisition, we are building an AI-led company focused on domain-specific models, sovereign AI architectures, and outcome-driven platforms,” said Sridhar Gadhi of Paradigm IT.
Anil Chalamalasetty, Chairman of AM Group, added, “We have developed an intelligent energy platform that efficiently delivers electrons for computing. We’re also creating a value chain that converts on-demand clean electrons into intelligent compute tokens. Our Smartworld & Communication business will help operationalize AI for essential systems in governments, cities, utilities, transport networks, and enterprises, enabling more autonomous and data-driven infrastructure and decision-making.”
The transaction comes as governments increasingly deploy AI for automation, security and data-driven policymaking, driving growth in the sovereign AI segment.
