Adani Penna Cement’s ongoing collaboration with the Gram Panchayat in Patas is emerging as a model for integrated rural development, combining infrastructure, education and environmental initiatives.
Launched in August 2024, the programme has focused on addressing local needs through a participatory approach. One of the first projects was the construction of a community hall in Kangaon village at a cost of Rs. 17 lakh, fulfilling a long-pending demand.
The company has also prioritised environmental sustainability through riverbank and ghat development along the Bhima river. The project, valued at Rs. 60 lakh, is expected to enhance accessibility and promote safer usage of the river.
In the education sector, multiple interventions have been carried out. Yede Basti School has been equipped with a boundary wall and educational wall paintings, while Betwadi School has received over 40 benches and desks.
Further, infrastructure upgrades at Navingar school include installation of a school gate, with plans for drinking water systems, security cameras and additional improvements aimed at enhancing safety and hygiene.
The initiative is built on a collaborative framework with the Gram Panchayat, ensuring that development efforts are aligned with community needs and delivered with accountability. The approach reflects a broader shift towards impact-driven CSR, where success is measured by improvements in everyday life.
