Rallis India Limited, a Tata Enterprise, has announced the launch of Idea2Impact™, an open innovation platform aimed at strengthening collaboration across India’s agricultural ecosystem to deliver sustainable, farmer-focused solutions.
The platform enables collaboration with farmers, researchers, startups, academic institutions, and small enterprises by providing access to Rallis’ scientific expertise, R&D facilities, testing and validation infrastructure, and national market reach.
According to Rallis, Indian agriculture is increasingly challenged by climate uncertainty, sustainability requirements, regulatory complexity, and shifting farmer needs. The company believes innovation must be externally collaborative, scientifically robust, and deeply rooted in field conditions.
Idea2Impact™ follows a clearly defined governance framework with milestones covering confidentiality, evaluation, development, and value-sharing. Innovations submitted may progress through laboratory studies, greenhouse trials, multi-location field testing, pilot deployment, and commercialization, supported by transparent intellectual property and royalty arrangements.
Dr. Gyanendra Shukla, Managing Director & CEO, Rallis India Limited, said, “At Rallis, we believe that meaningful agricultural innovation emerges when strong science is combined with fresh ideas and real field experience. Idea2Impact™ is our way of opening up Rallis’ capabilities to the wider ecosystem, while maintaining the highest standards of governance, transparency, and scientific rigor. This platform will help us work more closely with innovators to develop solutions that deliver real value to farmers and contribute to the long-term sustainability of Indian agriculture.”
The platform will focus on innovation areas including seeds and trait development, biological and sustainable solutions, crop protection, soil health, digital and precision agriculture, and climate and water resilience.
